I teach undergraduate News and Media classes, along with Mass Communication courses on the graduate level.
Recently, the focus of my teaching has been
on the following courses:
- Feature Writing
- Newswriting
- Women, Minorities & Media
- Women, Minorities & News
I also regularly teach a theory course as a required course in Graduate
Studies in Communication. It’s usually offered in the Spring
semesters:
- Theories of Mass Communication
Newswriting Coordinator
To promote a consistency of quality and content among the many sections of Newswriting that are offered each semester, I serve as a liaison with local media professionals and work closely with them when they teach News courses with the School of Communication on a part-time basis.

Two of the courses I regularly teach are cross-listed with the Women's Studies Program:
- Women, Minorities & Media
- Women, Minorities & News
These courses may be used as electives in the pursuit of a Certificate or a Minor in Women's Studies .
