EMPLOYMENT (University Administration):
Arizona State University, College of Education, Assistant to the Dean for Public and Political Affairs. Official media spokesperson and development officer for the college. Coordinated activities of the business advisory committee and superintendent’s advisory committee, 1988-1993.
Arizona State University, Office of the Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Special Assistant for Administrative Projects. Reported directly to the vice-president on multiple university projects. Assisted with the coordination of the university’s federal lobbying efforts, liaison to the deans of the several colleges, identified and articulated the scope and direction of university/tenant relations in the ASU Research Park, 1984-1986.
EMPLOYMENT (Private Sector & Non-profit):
Southwest Key, Inc., Program Director, Unaccompanied Minors Shelter Care Program. Staffed and operated a 24 hour secure residential shelter under contract with the Office of International Affairs (OIA) and the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). Mayor responsibility for balancing a $2 million budget and supervising 54 multilingual staff (Mandarin, Spanish, Hindi), 1996-1997.
Boettcher & Company, Associate, Municipal Finance. Financial advisor to schools, colleges and universities. Analyzed existing and future debt structures. Prepared Official Statements, maintained contact with bond rating agencies, bond counsel, treasurers, school administrators, governing boards, and the state legislature, 1986-1988.
EMPLOYMENT (Public Administration):
Office of Congressman John McCain (now U.S. Senator), Deputy Administrative, Assistant. Coordinated casework originating in the district office with the Washington, D.C. office. Supervised staff, interns, and volunteers. Prepared responses to constituent inquiries and special requests. Addressed constituent concerns in education, veteran’s affairs, and social security. Assisted with the planning and coordination of congressional field hearings on the "Rising Cost of Health Care in the United States." Liaison to community groups, colleges, universities, and tribal governments, 1983-1984.
