Introduction

Bath Nature Perserve

In April and May of 2007 our group conducted a geophysical survey in Bath Nature Preserve at the site known as Round Top.

The area in which we conducted our survey is temporally undefined. However, within a 6.5km area of the site the majority of what has been found has been dated to the Archaic period with the Woodland a close second(9-8). Based on this fact and further investigation regarding post molds, this site could potentially be Woodland placing it at the time of occupation of the Hopewell and Adena.

These people were known as hunters and gatherers who set up camp near bodies of water.

Groups such as the Adena, Hopewell, and the Gravel Kame Indians frequented these areas.
