Pete Nischt Band

Pete Nischt began performing as a member of Northcoast, which disbanded in June of 2005. Pete carried on, and he found that although he’d had a blast with his friends, the style of music he had been composing in Northcoast no longer satisfied him. By August of 2005, his musical curiosities had finally settled into what they are today: a sometimes edgy, sometimes sleepy, mellow, moody blend of folk-rock, modern acoustic pop, and jazz. In the fall of 2005, Pete began attending the University of Akron and traveling from college to college, spreading the word about his music and playing under his own name. He has been doing so ever since. In February of 2006, he released his first CD, Sandbox. Due to the accessibility the internet has given his music, the CD even started attracting attention from a few independent record labels and radio stations from all over the country. Although no deals have been made, and talks have only just begun, it seems clear to many that Pete may be on to something. “For now, though,” he says, “it’s all just about having fun.” And he’s having a blast.
