Serap Hayat is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Polymer Science, University of Akron. She obtained a B.Sc. in Chemistry at Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey in 2002. She joined the Puskas group as a Ph.D. candidate in July of 2004.

Her research interests include understanding the mechanism of initiation in carbocationic polymerization from epoxy initiators, synthesis and characterization of multiarm-star polyisobutylenes by living carbocationic polymerization and structure-property relationships.
