Biographical Information:
Dr. Hebert received his BSE degree from the University of Toledo (1965), and an MSIE degree from Purdue University (1967). From June, 1967 through May, 1969 he was a Ford Foundation Fellow, and lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he worked for the well-known consulting firm of Fernandez Long y Reggini. He returned to Purdue University where he earned a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering (1972). Dr. Hebert joined the faculty at The University of Akron in 1980, after having taught at Florida International University (1972-76), Virginia Tech (1976-79), and the U.S. Naval Academy (1979-80). His teaching interests are in the area of production, operations and service management. His research interests are in the areas of project management, inventory management, and scheduling. Dr. Hebert is active professionally. He publishes regularly, has made numerous scholarly presentations, and is a participating member in several professional societies. Dr. Hebert serves on a number of committees at the department, college and university level, and is the faculty advisor to the Student APICS Chapter.
