Webmaster HildeThe Family Cats

Since our Mom hasn't updated this page for ages we have staged a Kitty Web-Coup and taken over!  As the most web-savvy cat in the family I will be doing these pages from now on, but you can read what my sisters have to say on the family Blog --Hilde

A friend of our mommy once said our house is like one of those "find the hidden picture" puzzles, only with hidden cats. The most cats that have ever lived here at one time was twenty-three (with three litters only a few days apart), the least was two.  The current cat population numbers four with one litter recently arrived!

Mei-mei had four babies! 3 girls, 1 boy!

Meet the girls: Izzy, Hilde, Mei-mei and Bella

Big sister, Isadora ("Izzy") Dunkitty is  the primadonna of the family.  Izzy divides her time between bird watching, posing decoratively, and graciously allowing people to feed her from their plates.  Although generally a slow stroller, she has been known to go from 0 to 50 mph at the sound of a can opener.

Mei-Mei (her name means little sister) joined the family in August of 2004.  She was a stray kitten in Akron near Steve's house (he's a sucker for kittens).  Mom fattened her up and now she's one of the gang.  She is a terror, though, and is always trying to mix it up with Izzy and Bella--then Mom calls her the "bad baby." Me, I just ignore her.  I told Mom to get her fixed, but no luck--now Mei-Mei just had a litter of 4!  Hmmm . . . Might be fun to have some babies around!

Our newest sister, Isabel or "Bella," joined the family at New Year's of 2005.  She lived in several houses before then came to live with our human sister Gentian, but the cats there, Jaques and Murrie, picked on her so she came here. She's very shy and very soft, and she likes to sing to our humans in the shower and then lick their toes when they step out.  She doesn't go outside, because an early owner had her declawed (Ick! shudder).  She does like to help Mom grade papers and write, but with no claws she isn't very good on the keyboard.

As for me, my name is Brunhilde, but you can call me "Hilde." I joined  of the gang when Steve found me and my brother as three-week-old kittens in 2002 in his backyard.  We were bottle-fed 'til we were nearly 2 months, so I know that humans are good mommies and I also know that they make the best furniture.  (My humans know that kittens are better than television).  To read more about all of us check out the Blog I set up! (Told you I was a web savvy cat!)

Stay tuned for further adventures of the Russ cats here and in our Blog!
