Polymer Science and Engineering Project with Green High School 15 students in their senior year participate in research projects at the University of Akron in various research labs over a period of 6 months and present their results at the Green Learning Expo as well as at the University. Prizes will be awarded for the best projects. Engineering Career Day (Fri, Oct 17, 2008) Approximately 100 high school students will be introduced to the various engineering disciplines and career options during an one-day event, which includes short presentations as well as Q&A sessions with faculty and undergraduate students. National/International Chemistry Olympiad - Local Qualifying Exams We coordinate the local and national level qualifying exams for High School students in a 3-County region, supported by the local section of ACS. This program promotes the participation of gifted students in the National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO) and in the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO), and provides an opportunity for motivated students (including those in disadvantaged school districts) to participate in various science and engineering projects at the University. |
