about

bio
I am a sociologist with a PhD from the University of Akron. My dissertation was a cross-national comparison of political opportunities for labor and environmental social movements. Other research interests include social inequalities, political sociology, and organizations. Various articles have appeared in various peer-reviewed journals, including Race, Ethnicity, & EducationSociology of Sport Journal, and Working USA: The Journal of Labor and Society. I have taught over a dozen classes, including social movements, social inequalities, social problems, and introduction to sociology. I strongly value interdisciplinary scholarship and study, and also hold a Master's degree in Geography from the University of Akron and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of North Dakota.
