Most of the color pictures associated with these pages are ones that I had the privilege to take. Most of the black and white are copies of photographs which I obtained from Arkadii Maltsev, secretary to P.S. Alexandroff, and my immediate host/contact during my two visits to Moscow, January-June 1979 and October-December 1981. At least one of them (Nina Bari circa 1930) is being used on the Mac Tutor History of Mathematics pages. Most of the pictures have been reduced to the size you see. If you would like copies please send me email will send them to you. If you wish to use them in a publication or talk, please feel free to do so with the appropriate acknowledgment. The numbers following the topic title indicate the number of pictures to be seen.
