It's as Easy as ABC

Here is the tune "Beauty in Tears" as I was able to convert it to the ABC music format, which I looked into recently. If you would like more information about the abc format, visit the ABC Music Homepage.

As you can see, the key is D, the meter is 3/4, the title is Beauty in Tears, and it is marked as the first tune in the list. Actually, this is a list of only one tune, but you could have hundreds of tunes in your tune list. I am sure you can see by inspection that the notes are written with the standard note names, capital letters being an octave lower than small letters, etc. Letters with a two after them are twice as long as letters without a number (which means, the 1 is understood, a timesaver). Also, if you'd like to accompany the tune, the appropriate chords are given inside of " " - neat, huh?

This is a midi file of the same tune, which I converted from abc format, using one of the freely available software packages on the net.

OK. Now you can go back to the PERSONAL page.
