Clayton Samels earned his Masters degree in English from the University of Akron. Since 1987 he has taught Basic Writing and English Composition at Wayne College as well at tutoring in the Writing Center. Although it taxes his memory (what doesn't?), he can recall when the Writing Center was located in a small back room on upper A wing, next to a room where dead sharks were stored. Back then, the Writing Center staff were excited about computerizing things on Apple II e's. In addition to personal computers, Clayton's interests range from ham radio to acoustic folk music; his wife Paula and son Robert have their radio licenses and make music with him in a group called The Samels Family.

(If you would like to see a PICTURE of the Samels Family, go ahead. I cropped it down to under 12K.)

You can also see a nice pictue of the TEXAS BUNCH, or most of them. It's under 50K and it's in color!

Check out a picture from an Ignizio Family project. Looks fishy to me!

Check out a picture from the summer of '98 Samels Family project. Sounds Elizabethan to me.

Here is a winter storm '99 Clayton project that sort of mushroomed.

I learned how to put up a postit note.

If you have plenty of time to spare, ask Clayton to tell you the difference between the Appalachian or mountain and the hammered dulcimer.

WHAT DID WE DO NEW YEARS EVE in 1996?

WHAT DID WE DO NEW YEARS EVE 1997?

WHAT DID WE DO NEW YEARS EVE 1998?
Well, we didn't play there that year, but we did cruise around like everyone else.

WHAT DID WE DO NEW YEARS EVE 1999?
Well, we spent a quiet evening at home.

I did manage to put the finishing touches on my first DAM (digital automatic music) cd up on my mp3.com site On my allowance, it's going to be the only way I ever release a cd! Head on over to http://mp3.com/clayton and have a listen. You could always buy one, but there's nobody breaking your arm to.
