Yeah, my parents freaked out when I got the first one. But, since then they've warmed up a bit to them - I think it helps that I can cover all of them with a t-shirt. I got these tattoos as reminders of important ideas and concepts.

Thunder Latest tattoo - the I Ching hexagram for thunder in the upper and lower. Left wrist, easily hidden by a watch. from Wikipedia: "the arousing (shock, thunder)" The inverse is also pretty cool: "keeping still, mountain" from the I Ching cards: "intimates ease and development - that feeling of dread leads to happiness - the issue of his dread is that he adopts proper laws for his course. 2nd and 4th session (Ankh re-inked as the 6th session): The Ankh and Water The Ankh is an Egyptian symbol for life and a tool of the gods. It's also a stylized symbol for humans in general. Water, another life symbol, is also a symbol for balance as it seeks
it's own level. A sometimes placid surface with turbulent depths teeming
with mystery. |

5th session - the Stylized Circuit - with Lightening I designed this circuit as a symbol for technology - it's based on a computer motherboard and the security tags on some consumer products. It's also a web (spider or Internet, take your pick) - ordered complexity growing from a center. The lightning bolt in the center - itself a symbol for energy and harnessed elemental forces - is also the symbol for DC comics "The Flash" Take a look at the original design It's a little faded here - I think there have been too many sunburns in my past. |
