flower origami

One of my co-workers was feeling a little down that she couldn't find any snowbells locally - it was a tradition for her family to exchange these in her country. So, I did a quick search on the internet for a diagram, gathered some supplies, and made these for her.

I made these flowers for a friend as a multi-event gift. The stems are from fake roses, and the flowers are made from copy paper and vellum folded together. Since vellum is tougher to fold and tends to tear more easily, the brighter paper showed through. I got a little carried away with the hot-melt glue used to hold them together, but you can't really tell from the final project.
