This one is called "17.28" - it's made from 12 sheets of paper with the insides of 3.5 in floppy disks glued to them. 12*1.44 (I didn't unformat them) = 17.28 MB

It's the most potentially intelligent origami I've done to date.

Now, if only CD's were foldable...

I've folded with metal before, but never quite this involved. Twelve sheets of copper/aluminum foil - somewhat heavy duty. As with most folding like this, once the fold is made, that's pretty much it. No going back or undoing or fudging. It's origami not for the faint of heart.

I've got this hanging outside on my front porch. It moved a bit in the breeze, but it's mostly protected from the weather. I was hoping it would change color over time, but I suspect it's only "copper-colored" instead of real copper. Eh, it's still cool. Click for a more detailed view from a different angle.

The streamers got broken off in a serious windstorm not long after this photo was taken. It's still cool, but not as cool as I would have liked.

I got this from an origami book and though some people have said it's the coolest origami I've done - I don't really agree. Interesting, yes, but not that technically challenging - and it requires quite a bit of glue. Still, it does look a little like magic and even one or two of these cubes together looks pretty cool.
