Light scattering spectroscopy

Micro-Raman spectroscopy:

Triple monochromator Jobin Yvon T64000 equipped with confocal optical microscope Olympus and back-illuminated deep-depletion CCD camera. Works well down to n ~ 2-3 cm-1 (~60-100GHz)

Interferometry:

Tandem Fabry-Perot Interferometer (Sandercock model) covers frequency range from ~1 THz (~30 cm-1) down to ~100 MHz (~0.003 cm-1)

Nano-Raman spectrometer

The system includes LabRam HR800 Raman system, Quesant Q-scope AFM, specially designed confocal optical microscope that couples Raman system with AFM.

Broad-Band Dielectric Spectroscopy

Concept-80 system from Novocontrol, frequency range 10-3 - 109 Hz, temperature range 100K - 500K

Anvil Optical Pressure Cell

Can reach pressure up to 5 GPa and can be used in symmetric scattering.

Sample environment:

Cryofurnace, model Janis Optical SuperTran, works in temperature range from 4K up to 475K.

Optical Cryostat, Optistat from Oxford, works in temperature range from 80K  up to 310K. Has a separate sample chamber.

Homemade optical oven, temperature range up to ~1000 K.

Lasers:

3 Ar++-ion lasers:

Lexel 3500A-4-E with Frequency-Lock system. Provides extremely high stability in frequency for 514.5nm and 488nm wavelengths due to stabilization by iodine cell. Also provides other Ar-lines.

Lexel 85 model and Coherent

2 Kr++-ion lasers:

Lexel 95-K-HP. Provides laser lines with wavelengths from 413nm up to 799 nm.

Coherent

1 Solid-State laser (532 nm), Verdi-2 from Coherent

Equipment for sample preparations, including high-precision balances, ovens, optical microscope, ultrasound bath, steerers, vacuum pump.
